Positive: Fisbain, the manager, was a very gentle, kind and obliging man who spoke English. The room was clean, though there tiling in the shower was degrading. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with beautiful fresh juice, Spanish omelet, toast, tea and coffee. There is a view of the lake across a road and 2 reasonable restaurants within 5 minutes walk
Negative: No kettle, no fridge, wifi was intermittent

Positive: Spa Shallum is a great, affordable place to explore Lake Kivu! It's made especially great by manager Faustin, who gave us recommendations for boat and kayak guides, arranged food delivery, board games to borrow and Moto taxis and just overall is very attentive and friendly! Breakfast is also fresh and delicious, and made even better by the view of the lake (don't be mistaken: there is a road between the accommodation and the lake itself, but it's not very frequented, so it's very quiet and peaceful). When I come back to Kibuye, I'll definitely stay here again.

Positive: Great to have breakfast on the terrace outside the room. Service is great and Faustine was super helpful. Great location at the Lakeside.
Negative: Most rooms have Lake View, mine did not - make sure you check if that is an important consideration for you. I should have requested that specifically. My fault not the hotels.
Summary: Super quiet, relaxing stay, great location, staff very helpful.

Positive: The location suited me perfectly for a bike race I was taking part in. I had messaged the host to say that I would be arriving late. The host did take note of my message. If I am in Rwanda next year for the race I will certainly want to stay there again
Negative: The shower was cold when I arrived however by the next morning it was perfectly hot.
Summary: Probably the best place I stayed in while riding around Rwanda

Positive: Really kind staff, very comfortable room, right on the lake, amazing breakfast. Easily my best room in Rwanda thus far.
Negative: I don't know if any buildings in the country put mesh on their windows to keep out the mosquitos, but it sure would be nice if they did!

Positive: My host Faustin was amazing during all my stay. He was available and helped me with everything. The room was clean and confortable. The included breakfast was really good (but the same every morning). The shower was hot and with good pressure. The view is nice and the neighborhood is very calm. There are 2 restaurants very close (walking distance). They have a massage facility. Massages are nice and inexpensive.
Negative: There is a gap between the exterior door and the floor so insects can come in. There were nothing much when I was there but it could be fixed.
Summary: Really relaxing stay!

Positive: Loved our stay here! Very friendly staff and the manager was great. The room was comfy, location was perfect. There's no restaurant for dinner, but two very close by, 2 minute walk to each. Breakfast included in the morning was great. Safe and secure parking. The manager also arranged a boat tour to the bat island which was really impressive, a must do! My wife had a massage from Vistine and said it was seriously good. She was really impressed. Overall, highly recommended! Thanks
